Matt graduated from University of Alberta in 2009 with a B.Comm and completed his CA School of Business schooling in 2012. In 2014 Matt received his Chartered Accountant designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and his Chartered Professional Accountant designation from CPA Alberta in 2015.

Matt completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax program in 2017, CPA Canada’s In-Depth Corporate Reorganizations course in 2018, and CPA Canada's Issues for the Owner-Managed Business course in 2019.

Matt has worked on a wide array of tax planning and compliance engagements for both public and private companies, at both multinational and local accounting firms.

Matt specializes in corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, estate and succession planning, post-mortem tax returns and planning, and Canadian tax compliance for individuals, trusts and corporations.

Matt seeks to enhance the wealth of his clients through conservative, yet effective tax planning. His business philosophy is to minimize the client's stress of dealing with Canada Revenue Agency so that clients can focus on their business, family and life.

Ben graduated from University of Calgary in 2010 earning a B.Comm in Accounting and a BA in Political Science. Ben designated as a Chartered Accountant in 2014 and gained insight on a broad variety of tax legislation when he completed the CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax course in 2017, and CPA Canada's Issues for the Owner-Managed Business course in 2019.

At GGT Chartered Professional Accountants, Ben assists small and medium sized businesses and their owners with accounting, tax and assurance. He also has broad experience in succession and estate planning.

Prior to joining our team, Ben gained valuable tax experience and accounting and assurance experience at multinational and local accounting firms.

Ben also is active in the community, volunteering as the Treasurer for Globalfest.

As a nature enthusiast, Ben enjoys spending his weekends hiking and camping. He also considers himself a coffee aficionado. 




Marcel's family operated a dairy farm when he was growing up and the experience taught him the value of hard work.

He graduated from University of Lethbridge in 2012 with a Bachelor of Management degree in Accounting and became designated as a Chartered Accountant in 2015.


Prior to joining GGT, Marcel gained a wide range of tax, accounting, and assurance experience at multinational accounting firms. He is passionate about working with his clients to help them achieve their business goals.


Marcel works primarily with owner-managed businesses on both corporate and personal tax compliance and planning. He specializes in remuneration strategies for his clients and ensuring that the most tax efficient strategy is chosen. 


In his spare time, Marcel enjoys playing with his two young kids and spending time with his wife.






Nancy joined GGT Chartered Professional Accountants in 2016, prior to which she worked in the accounting field for over ten years. Nancy's previous work experience includes working as an Accountant and Senior Accountant with two firms based out of Calgary.

Nancy was awarded her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), Accounting from York University in 2008.

In 2011 she received her Certified General Accountant (CGA) professional designation.

Nancy completed CPA Canada's In-depth Tax program in 2018.

Nancy's approachable demeanor and depth of knowledge makes her a valuable member of our team.

Nancy is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Janice graduated from the University of Victoria in 2013. She spent the following years working in Victoria and Calgary honing her skills in accounting and taxation. She received her CPA designation in 2019.


Janice enjoys working with individuals and owner-managed businesses on tax planning and accounting engagements. She prides herself on helping her clients navigate increasingly complex statutory and regulatory requirements in a manner that lets them sleep at night. She believes that communication and trust are essential in any professional relationship and commits to these values with all her clients.


Janice is currently enrolled in CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax program.


In her spare time, Janice enjoys travelling. She is currently learning golf.


Janice is fluent in English and Korean.





Ricky graduated from University of Calgary in 2018 earning a B.Comm in Accounting and completed an internship program with Deloitte LLP.


Ricky is currently enrolled in the CPA program at the Canadian Western School of Business and wrote his final CFE exams in September 2021. He intends to further his education by enrolling in an In-Depth Tax Program.


Inspired by his uncle who owns a small firm in Calgary, Ricky has gained experience preparing corporate year end files and tax returns for a variety of owner managed businesses.


Ricky prides himself in being able to research and communicate insights into taxation, so that clients can achieve the best results.


In his spare time, Ricky enjoys fitness training, hiking, and soccer.


Ricky is fluent in English and Punjabi.

Selena is an Accounting Technician and is pleased to provide assistance to help prepare corporate and personal tax and accounting documents. She has taken several accounting courses to build her foundational knowledge of tax and accounting.


Selena is originally from Manitoba and moved to Calgary in 2011. She attended Robertson College and worked as a Law Clerk specializing in Immigration for over four years before joining our firm.


In her spare time, Selena enjoys playing most sports and is currently learning how to sew.

Jasmine provides administrative support to the team at GGT Chartered Professional Accountants.


She has been in the accounting industry for over ten years, and is highly regarded for her experience in operations and client relationship management.

Peter has significant experience in corporate and personal tax planning, corporate reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures, estate planning and litigation support. Over his years in public accounting he has assisted many clients with a full range of services from start-up to eventual sale of their successful businesses. He continues to enjoy the tax planning aspects of public practice and works with other professionals to develop tax effective corporate structures.

Peter articled with a national accounting firm and received his accounting designation in 1984. He has been actively involved with the institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and has served on the Complaints Inquiry Committee for many years.

In 2013, Peter was awarded the Fellow of Chartered Accountants (FCA) designation. The FCA is granted to Chartered Accountants who have rendered exceptional service to the profession or whose achievements in their careers, the community, or in the profession have earned them distinction and brought honour to the profession. He has been in public practice for over 30 years and has developed valued long-term friendships with many of his clients.




Partner (Retired)


Peggy's strengths lie in tax planning as well as business and financial advice for businesses in start-up and growth phases. She has considerable experience in small business start-up requirements such as assistance with bank negotiations, financing applications, lease/buy evaluation, and business plan consulting including cash flow analysis. Peggy has solid working knowledge in human resource areas such as compensation planning and is able to provide advice with recruitment.

Peggy articled with PWC and obtained her Chartered Accountant Designation in 1984. During the first 15 years of her career she worked in industry and eventually was the CFO of a sulphur transportation company.

In 2000, she joined Peter and they formed Garrett Gray Chartered Accountants. Her focus is small to medium sized owner operated businesses and personal tax area of public practice. Her goal is to make a difference in a company's overall success and has assisted many companies in a variety of industries. She is involved with several volunteer activities in the community and takes a special interest in working with the elderly.
