Peter has significant experience in corporate and personal tax planning, corporate reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures, estate planning and litigation support. Over his years in public accounting he has assisted many clients with a full range of services from start-up to eventual sale of their successful businesses. He continues to enjoy the tax planning aspects of public practice and works with other professionals to develop tax effective corporate structures.
Peter articled with a national accounting firm and received his accounting designation in 1984. He has been actively involved with the institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and has served on the Complaints Inquiry Committee for many years.
In 2013, Peter was awarded the Fellow of Chartered Accountants (FCA) designation. The FCA is granted to Chartered Accountants who have rendered exceptional service to the profession or whose achievements in their careers, the community, or in the profession have earned them distinction and brought honour to the profession. He has been in public practice for over 30 years and has developed valued long-term friendships with many of his clients.
Peggy's strengths lie in tax planning as well as business and financial advice for businesses in start-up and growth phases. She has considerable experience in small business start-up requirements such as assistance with bank negotiations, financing applications, lease/buy evaluation, and business plan consulting including cash flow analysis. Peggy has solid working knowledge in human resource areas such as compensation planning and is able to provide advice with recruitment.
Peggy articled with PWC and obtained her Chartered Accountant Designation in 1984. During the first 15 years of her career she worked in industry and eventually was the CFO of a sulphur transportation company.
In 2000, she joined Peter and they formed Garrett Gray Chartered Accountants. Her focus is small to medium sized owner operated businesses and personal tax area of public practice. Her goal is to make a difference in a company's overall success and has assisted many companies in a variety of industries. She is involved with several volunteer activities in the community and takes a special interest in working with the elderly.
Matt graduated from University of Alberta in 2009 with a B.Comm and completed his CA School of Business schooling in 2012. In 2014 Matt received his Chartered Accountant designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta and his Chartered Professional Accountant designation from CPA Alberta in 2015.
Matt completed CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax program in 2017, CPA Canada’s In-Depth Corporate Reorganizations course in 2018, and CPA Canada's Issues for the Owner-Managed Business course in 2019.
Matt has worked on a wide array of tax planning and compliance engagements for both public and private companies, at both multinational and local accounting firms.

Matt seeks to enhance the wealth of his clients through conservative, yet effective tax planning. His business philosophy is to minimize the client's stress of dealing with Canada Revenue Agency so that clients can focus on their business, family and life.
Ben graduated from University of Calgary in 2010 earning a B.Comm in Accounting and a BA in Political Science. Ben designated as a Chartered Accountant in 2014 and gained insight on a broad variety of tax legislation when he completed the CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax course in 2017, and CPA Canada's Issues for the Owner-Managed Business course in 2019.
At GGT Chartered Professional Accountants, Ben assists small and medium sized businesses and their owners with accounting, tax and assurance. He also has broad experience in succession and estate planning.
Prior to joining our team, Ben gained valuable tax experience and accounting and assurance experience at multinational and local accounting firms.
Ben also is active in the community, volunteering as the Treasurer for Globalfest.
As a nature enthusiast, Ben enjoys spending his weekends hiking and camping. He also considers himself a coffee aficionado.
Nancy joined GGT Chartered Professional Accountants in 2016, prior to which she worked in the accounting field for close to ten years. Nancy's previous work experience includes working as an Accountant and Senior Accountant with two firms based out of Calgary.
Nancy was awarded her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), Accounting from York University in 2008.
In 2011 she received her Certified General Accountant (CGA) professional designation.
Nancy completed CPA Canada's In-depth Tax program in 2018.
Nancy's approachable demeanor and depth of knowledge makes her a valuable member of our team.
Nancy is fluent in English and Mandarin.
JANICE SHIN CPA
Janice has been part of the GGT Chartered Professional Accountant's team since 2016.
She graduated from University of Victoria in 2013 and worked on Vancouver island for a few years before opportunity brought her to Calgary.
Janice received her CPA designation in 2019.
Janice prides herself on being responsive and helpful. She believes that communication and trust are essential in any professional relationship, and commits to these values with all her clients.
She is active in the church community and enjoys travelling in her spare time.
Janice is fluent in English and Korean.
Jasmine provides administrative support to the team at GGT Chartered Professional Accountants.
She has been in the accounting industry for over six years, working closely with Peter Garrett and Peggy Gray.
Jasmine's experience and outgoing personality make her a valuable asset to the GGT team.
Jessica provides administrative support to the team and has been in the financial industry for more than ten years.
She worked as an Investment Associate for CIBC Private Wealth Management from 2005-2014 and then took three years off to raise her young family.
Jessica joined GGT Chartered Professional Accountants in August 2017.
Selena provides administrative support to the team at GGT Chartered Professional Accountants.
She is originally from Manitoba and moved to Calgary in 2011.
Selena attended Robertson College and worked as a Law Clerk specializing in Immigration for over four years before joining our firm.
